WinKFP is a factory-generated software for programming or flashing most of the current BMW models. It is mainly used to update the modules of a BMW vehicle. It also offers functions for diagnostic, checking aif, and many more! Here are the steps on how to update or program a module using WinKFP.
- WinKFP is the factory software for flashing most BMWs (at least the ones we can support). We plan to have our own flashing software available soon, but WinKFP is actually very safe, fast and effective. Bimmerlabs can generate customized tunes in BMW's proprietary format. When using customized files, it is required to use WinKFP's 'Expert Mode.
- – Working BMW engineering tool– WINKFP (Built in Rheingold ISTA-D ISTA-P) – load the correct data files which is obtained from ISTA-P or commonly found online as DATEN packs – you need the E46 stuff (if I recall correctly the last lot of the DME updates were back in 200. – Now hook your car up to a battery tender!!!!!!!
Here is the tutorial of set up WinKFP& importing SP-daen files and programming E46 ECU using WinKFP software.
Tools needed:
BWM ICOM ISTA-D/P Rheingold engineering software WinKFP
BWM ICOM A2+B+C emulator or cheap BMW INPA K+DCAN cable
Step 1: Set up Winkfp and import Sp-Daten files
1) Download SP-Daten to your PC in order to update WinKFP databse with the daten files.
Here is the free SP-daten V50.2 free download resources. Make sure download all files.
2) You will notice the files you downloaded earlier have a ‘.rar’ extension; we need a program called WinRar to extract the daten files from the .rar archives. Bellow is a link to a trial version of WinRar:
3) Then extract the archives
4) Update SP-daten. Usually we use BMW Coding Tool to update the SP-daten. Here is one free download. BMW Coding Tool V2.50 free download:
5) Select “Select SP-source” and choose the Sp-Daten folder
6) Now click on “Update WinKFP” button and wait until update completed.
Update procedure is done. Now open SP-daten and start programming.
Step 2: Programming/Update ECU in WinKFP
How to program/update BMW E46 318 M43TU Engine ECU with WinKFP?
Setup WinKFP on INPA cable
1) Open WinKFP software on desktop
2) Select F1: Comfort mode
3) Press F3:Update ZUSB
4) Select assembly identification number MDS43
5) Press F8: Done
6) Press F3:Prog ZB-Update
7) Click Yes
8) Press OK to program ECU
9) Start programming ECU
10) Wait the procedure process to 100%
11) ZUSB-Update programming OK.
12) Exit WInKFP software. Unplug the INPA interface.

Im trying to update my e46 updated my sp daten to v41
after clicking zb prog update in winkfp
i get Error 209: UIF can not be read
Solution:
The problem is the IFH-0018 error. Check EDIABAS.ini and ensure that the “interface=****” is appropriately configured for the interface type you are using. You also need to ensure that the DATEN files you are using are compatible with the version of EDIABAS you are running.

i was going to program my FRM using winkfp and i got this error and i dont know what it is please I need HELP!!

Solution:
check your winkfp configuration
make sure it looks like this
the 211 it was because i didn’t have the power supply connected with the right Volts.
. Error 106: error on setting ECU Adress
Solution:
I choose confort mode enter zub mine was 9204527 for frm2 then I enter vin click ok then zub update click done after that send me to other window and I hit prog.zub update and program successful! Then exit winkfp.
FRM is programmed correctly.
Bmw Winkfp Daten Files
. Error 806: error on deleting assembly line data
I’ve got the cable from www.worldobd2.com like instructed by a few members in the DIY thread and installed INPA, DIS, winKFP and downloaded both V41 and V46 Data files for e60. Followed all of the instructions to a T in terms of installing software from the discs provided by the seller I got the cable from. When I do the assembly line import though into winkfp – I get this error message ( error 806 “deleting assembly line data”) with either V41 or V46 data files. It gets to about 94% of completion and then it stops .
Solution:
Try finding a Windows XP computer and install the BMW programs on it. It seems that anything higher than XP can sometimes run into issues with programming.
